Intubating Conditions and Injection Pain

چکیده
We studied 60 patients, ASA 1, aged 18-60 years, undergoing elective surgical procedures. The patients were randomly assigned to 3 groups who received intravenously either 0.15 mg/kg cisatracurium [2ED95], 0,6 mg rocuronium [2ED95] or a combination of 0.075 mg/kg cisatracurium [1ED95], plus 0.3 mg rocuronium [1ED95]. In the awake patients, the pain on injection of muscle relaxant was assessed on a four point scale (none, mild, moderate, severe). Administration of the relaxant was followed by 1-2 mg/kg of lidocaine and 2 mg/kg propofol. Orotracheal intubation was performed 60 seconds following the administration of the relaxant. The intubating conditions were assessed and rated as excellent, good, fair or poor.

Effect of lidocaine (40 mg) mixed to prevent injection pain of propofol on the intubating conditions and onset time of rocuronium
BACKGROUND To analyze how lidocaine 40 mg mixed prevents injection pain of propofol affects the onset time of rocuronium, tracheal intubating conditions and intubation related hemodynamic changes. METHODS This study consisted of 70 patients with an American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status class 1 or 2 for general anesthesia. All the patients were randomly allocated into two...
متن کاملConditions for tracheal intubation following fazadinium and pancuronium.
Intubating conditions were studied in two groups of patients who received either fazadinium 1 mg/kg or pancuronium 0.1 mg/kg (group 1), or either fazadinium 0.5 mg/kg or pancuronium 0.08 mg/kg (group 2). In group 1 intubating conditions were studied at 30, 45, 60 and 75 s after injection of the relaxant drug, and in group 2 at 60 s after injection. Fazadinium provided better intubating conditio...
متن کاملComparison of the trapezius and the adductor pollicis muscle as predictor of good intubating conditions: a randomized controlled trial
BACKGROUND Adequate muscle relaxation is important for ensuring optimal conditions for intubation. Although acceleromyography of the adductor pollicis muscle is commonly used to assess conditions for intubation, we hypothesized that acceleromyography of the trapezius is more indicative of optimal intubating conditions. The primary outcome was the difference between both measurement sites with r...

متن کاملComparison of etomidate and propofol on intubating conditions and the onset time associated with cisatracurium administration
BACKGROUND This study compared intubating conditions and the onset time associated with administration of cisatracurium, a nondepolarizing neuromuscular blocker with a relatively slow onset, according to prior injection of one of two intravenous anesthetic agents: propofol or etomidate. METHODS Forty-six female patients, undergoing general anesthesia and endotracheal intubation for elective s...
